Studio Dress Code
Please label all dance clothing and shoes with an indelible laundry marker.
PD-1 & PD-2: Pink short-sleeved leotard (no attached skirt), pink tights, pink full-soled, leather ballet slippers, black patent tap shoes. Hair must be pulled back away from face and secured neatly; headbands should be worn with short hair.
PD-3 & PD-4: Blue short-sleeved leotard (no attached skirt), pink tights, pink full-soled leather ballet shoes and black patent tap shoes. Hair must be pulled back away from face and secured neatly; headbands should be worn with short hair.
PD-5, AD-1, AD-2: Lavender short-sleeved leotard (no attached skirt), pink tights, pink full-soled leather ballet shoes. Hair must be pulled back away from face and secured neatly; headbands should be worn with short hair.
AD-3: Capezio #202 or Theatricals #N5501 (#N5501c for child sizes) Burgundy tank leotard, pink tights, & pink, full-soled leather ballet slippers.Hair must be pulled back away from face and secured; headbands should be worn with short hair.
AD-4: Capezio #202 (#202c for child sizes) Navy tank leotard, pink tights and pink full-soled leather ballet shoes. Hair must be pulled back away from face and secured neatly; headbands should be worn with short hair.
AD-5: Capezio #202 (#202c for child sizes) Hunter Green tank leotard, pink tights & pink, full-soled leather ballet shoes. Hair must be pulled back away from face and secured neatly; headbands should be worn with short hair.
CD-1: Capezio #202 or Theatricals #N5501 Black tank leotard, pink, full-soled leather ballet shoes, Body Wrappers tights #45 in Theatrical Pink. Hair must be pulled back away from face and secured neatly; headbands should be worn with short hair.
CD-2 & CD-3: Capezio #202 or Theatricals #N5501 Black tank leotard, Russian Pointe “Vivante” canvas, split-soled ballet shoes in pink, Body Wrappers tights #45 in Theatrical Pink. Hair must be pulled back away from face and secured neatly; headbands should be worn with short hair.
CD-4 & CD-5: Any style black leotard; Russian Pointe “Vivante” canvas, split-soled ballet shoes in pink, Body Wrappers tights #45 or #46, in Theatrical Pink. CD-4 & CD-5 may wear a colored leotard of their choice on Tuesdays. Company leotards are to be worn on Saturdays. Full footed, pink tights are still required, no black tights. Hair must be pulled back away from face and secured neatly; headbands should be worn with short hair.
Boys: White crew neck T-shirt, black bike shorts or full-footed tights, white socks, black or white ballet shoes. Dancers in PD-1 through PD-4 need black tap shoes.
Pre-Pointe Classes: Theraband, small towel or washcloth, towelettes to wipe feet (alcohol wipes/baby wipes etc.), pinky ball
All Tap Classes: Comfortable clothes that can easily be moved in, no jeans/pants that hang over shoes, black tap shoes with no heel (oxford style). Tights will be required for our June performance.
PDJ, ADJ-1, ADJ-2: Close fitting top, Black bike shorts or leggings, Black jazz shoes. Tights will be required for our June performance.
ALL CDJ Classes: Close fitting top or leotard, Black bike shorts or leggings, Tan jazz shoes. Tights will be required for our June performance.
All Hip Hop Classes: Comfortable clothes that can be moved in (no jeans) and clean, non-marking tennis shoes that will only be used for Hip Hop
Contemporary: Class leotard and pink convertible tights. No skirt or shorts may be worn. Knee pads are allowed for floor work.
All Adult Classes: Comfortable clothes that can be moved in and shoes appropriate for the style of dance (e.g. Ballet slippers for ballet, tennis shoes for Zumba etc.)
2023-2024 NCBC Company Dancers: Company leotards are to be worn on Saturdays
Please note that PSB accepts gender-neutral dress in our classes. Alternative options not on this specified list may be worn with pre-approval from the office. Hair must always be pulled securely away from face and neck; technique shoes must be worn.

Dance Class Etiquette
Please wear cover-ups over dance clothing when entering or leaving the studio. Dance shoes should not be worn outside the building.
Students must be in required class attire to take class. (Warm-ups are only permitted in class at teacher's discretion.)
Hair must be pulled back away from face and secured neatly for all classes; headbands should be worn with short hair.
NO jewelry other than pierced ear studs may be worn in class.
Students may be dismissed from class for talking, disrespectful behavior or disrupting class.
Please have dancers change clothes (or diapers) in the dressing room. Please keep strollers outside. Cameras and videos are only allowed during Observation Week.
A student arriving more than 10 minutes late may watch class but may not participate.
Chewing gum is NOT allowed in the building; only water is allowed in the studios (no other food or drink). No nuts please!
Students below CD-1 are not permitted in studios without teacher's permission.
